A VIRTUAL FESTIVAL STREAMING VIA THE SSE ARENA, WEMBLEY STRAIGHT INTO HOMES AROUND THE GLOBE ON THE EARLY MAY BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND, RAISING FUNDS & AWARENESS FOR WOMEN’S AID
Find your new favourite artist or enjoy a special set from a musical icon, you’ll be able to watch all the performances on OVO Arena Wembley’s Facebook page. Always a venue of firsts, it’s the first virtual festival in the iconic arena’s existence.
The inaugural two day event, curated by award winning radio & TV presenter Abbie McCarthy (BBC Introducing / BBC Radio 1 / 4Music), will include performances from some of the most exciting names in music – Emeli Sandé, Tones & I, Years & Years, Freya Ridings, Jade Bird, Maisie Peters, YUNGBLUD, Nina Nesbitt, James Bay, Georgia, L.Devine, Låpsley, dodie, Yonaka, Whenyoung & many more.Festival season would normally be kickstarting around now, with music fans seeing their favourite artists live and making ever-lasting memories with friends, Unity 2020 will be aiming to fill this void, bringing everyone together through the power of great music and raising funds for an important cause in Women’s Aid.
Unity 2020 takes place on Saturday 9th & Sunday 10th May and it’s looking set to be a weekend to remember.
Freya Ridings on being involved: “I’m genuinely so humbled to be part of Unity Festival 2020 for Women’s Aid, it’s such an honour. I’m going to be playing you some songs from my piano at home in London.”
Nina Nesbitt on the event: “Excited to be joining lots of other amazing artists to support Women’s Aid at OVO Arena Wembley via my living room! I’ll be playing you a couple of songs from my current album.”
Maisie Peters on the brilliant cause: “I’m really excited to be teaming up with Abbie and a whole host of amazing artists to put on a gig for Women’s Aid. Women’s Aid work tirelessly to support victims of domestic violence, something needed now more than ever, and I’m honoured to get to a play a tiny role in supporting them.”
Abbie McCarthy (curator): “It’s fantastic to have so many talented artists on one bill, all pulling together to raise money for a brilliant cause. I want people to don their festival attire, get the drinks in and enjoy a great weekend of music!”
