Daddy Yankee, the world’s most famous Reggaeton artist, is hitting London as part of the Reggeaton Summer Fest, accompanied by Ozuna, the genre’s hottest new Latin chart topper.
Daddy Yankee, the Big Boss as he frequently known, has been on a 15-year hit stretch. Making waves across Latin America long before his global hit ‘Gasolina’ became a worldwide phenomenon. The kid from a San Juán housing estate went on to collaborate with some of the world’s most successful music acts - G Unit, Snoop Dogg, Nelly Furtado, N.O.R.E and Enrique Iglesias, selling over 18 million albums worldwide.
Daddy Yankee became one of the most successful Latino artists ever with hits such as ‘Rompe’, ‘Lo que paso paso’, ‘Impacto’, ‘Limbo’ and ‘La Despedida’ which have earned him an MTV award, 1 Latin Grammy, 2 Latin American Music Awards, 8 Premios Lo Nuestro, 13 Premios Juventud, 14 Latin Billboard Awards and many more. He is the only Reggaeton artist ever to have charted in the UK, with a #4 in the UK Top 10 (Gasolina). Along with Luis Fonsi he currently holds the #1 spot in the US Latin Charts for over 7 weeks with ‘Despacito’ reaching over 670 million views on YouTube in less than 3 months.
Ozuna is the biggest star of the new wave of Reggaeton and Latin Trap, who has built a fan base mostly via social media. At only 25 years old, this fellow Puerto Rican is already dropping chart-topping singles across the world such as ‘Si tú marido no te quiere’, ‘Dile que tu me quieres’, ‘Corazón de seda’ and has become a YouTube sensation with music videos collecting more than 1 billion views combined.
His hit song ‘La Ocasion’ catapulted the new Latin Trap genre into the international market and his unique hook made the song an instant classic across the Americas. With a regular spot in the Billboard Hot Latin Song charts, Ozuna is considered to be the face of the “new school” of Urban Latin artists, which includes J Balvin, Maluma, Bad Bunny and Anuel AA.
